Job description

As part of the UK MMG team, the primary focus of this role is to provide support to an International Partner/ Board Member, with lower-level support for two other Partners.

Lockton MMG

Market Management Group (MMG) is responsible for managing key relationships with some of Lockton’s largest insurers. MMG oversees these partnerships through broker service agreements. Spanning all departments, MMG can assist the business in various ways. Whether it’s providing valuable data & insights, facilitating engagement, or helping to remove barriers to trading, we are dedicated to strengthening the relationships with our Insurance Partners across the whole of Lockton.

What are the typical responsibilities?
  • Proactive diary management – ability to know which meetings are priority, how much time to allocate for the meeting, who should attend and what preparation/papers are required.
  • To be the interface and gateway for the Partners, enabling access where/ when appropriate and delegating where necessary/ deciding the most suitable course of action.
  • Ensuring Partners meet deadlines and remain focused by allocating sufficient time for working/ planning etc (and factoring in home life/wellbeing etc).
  • Collating and distributing necessary papers and reports as required for ExCo and team meetings.
  • Proactive email management on behalf of Partners, filtering, prioritising, delegating, actioning and responding on behalf of Partners accordingly, minimising the number of emails the Partners need to see or action but ensuring Partners are fully aware of all relevant matters.
  • Relationship building with all key stakeholders both internal and external and at all levels.
  • Being an ambassador for and managing the personal brand of the Partners, acting as their interface and often main point of contact, ensuring the right messages are transmitted to stakeholders, including greeting guests attending meetings onsite where appropriate.
  • Travel co-ordination – an ability to create extensive overseas and multi‑destination/time zone travel plans with meeting schedules, flights, visas, hotels, airport transfers, meals, logistics etc and support for communication during travel as well as contingency plans.
  • Expenses management.
  • Managing the Lockton client hospitality suite at a premier league football ground.
  • Working with the wider MMG team to support with projects that fall within the overarching remit of the Partners.
What skills and experience would we like you to have?
  • Proven experience of working as an Executive Assistant to C‑Suite or senior level.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Approachable, proactive & flexible.
  • An ability to remain calm and work under pressure, with tight deadlines and changing/ conflicting priorities.
  • A self‑starter, capable of working autonomously as well as part of a team and remotely when necessary.
  • An ability to know who to utilise for actions in order to obtain required outcomes.
  • An understanding of the business and an ability to see the bigger picture.
  • An ability to maintain momentum and keep the business moving in the absence of the Partners. An ability to ensure the BAU is attended to during times when the Partner’s focus needs to be elsewhere.
