Job description

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and enthusiastic Examination Manager, to oversee and manage the implementation of all examinations; this will include external, internal, and online tests for Y7 to Y13. The post holder will liaison with exam boards, students, staff, and Senior Management. This exciting and varied role is ideal for a candidate who has previous experience of examinations co-ordination. Duties will include all administrative aspects of examinations, ensuring all legislative and procedural changes from examination boards are implemented effectively, co-ordination of a team of casual invigilators, line management of the specialist assessor and any other day to day operational requirements. Working 37 hours per week term time only, plus 5 additional days (Availability to undertake a further 5 additional days, with payment, is essential) Term time includes working 2 out of 5 INSET days each academic year as directed, with availability to work any or all of the remaining 3 INSET days at short notice should the need arise. You will be:

  • able to work independently to ensure all examination arrangements are implemented successfully
  • able to understand and implement all regulations and requirements held by the academy for all examinations
  • able to ensure JCQ and awarding body regulations are adhered to and any changes are administrated in a timely manner
  • able to work closely with senior leaders SENDCo and the specialist assessor to ensure appropriate access arrangements and adjustments are fulfilled for appropriate students
  • able to effectively and efficiently manage and deploy a team of invigilators and resources
  • able to effectively and efficiently line manage the Exam Assessor
  • able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff, parents/carers and students across the academy and wider trust
  • able to provide effective and efficient administrative support when required and as directed, including drafting papers, correspondence, reports, letters, research and collating information, filing/storage, photocopying etc. (include hard copy and electronic records
  • able to support with timetabling and data when required and as directed.

The role is based at Aston Academy but may, on occasion, involve working at other academies within the trust.
