Job summary

Leeds City College is recruiting an Exam Access Arrangements Needs Assessor for a part-time, reduced-year role in Leeds. The post involves supporting learners with additional needs to access learning and examinations, ensuring reasonable adjustments are in place.

The role requires a postgraduate qualification in specialist assessment, experience with SEND, JCQ guideline compliance, and ability to travel between sites. Flexible/hybrid working is available and pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in individual specialist assessment at level 7 EAA (e.g. CP3TA, PAPPA).
• Experience of working with students with specific learning difficulties.
• Current experience applying exam access requirements per JCQ guidelines.
• Own transport or ability to travel to multiple sites at short notice.
• IT proficient and able to record information digitally.

Responsibilities

• Support learners with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Plan, prepare and implement support plans and assessments.
• Conduct tests to confirm learners' normal way of working.
• Monitor EAA mailbox and process documentation.
• Arrange testing for learners across the group.
• Be the primary contact for learners and coordinate with college staff to meet SEND requirements.

About the Role

Leeds City College are recruiting for an Exam Access Arrangements Needs Assessor.

As an Exam Access Arrangements Needs Assessor you will be responsible for carrying out specialist exam access arrangements to ensure learners who require it, have the appropriate reasonable adjustments during any examinations taken during their programme of study.

The function of this role is to support learners with additional needs to access learning, college facilities and fully participate in general College activities; having access to any specific exam arrangements as evidenced as the learner’s usual way of working to ensure they are not disadvantaged.

*Actual salary for 22.5 hours per week and 38 weeks per year commences at £17,255 with progression to £19,416 per annum.

What You Will Do

• You will be supporting learners with emotional and behavioural difficulties, and have worked in a similar role previously.
• You will need to plan, prepare and implement support plans and carry out assessments to support young people and/or vulnerable adults to be successful in their studies.
• You will perform appropriate tests based on the student's need, to ensure they confirm the student's normal way of working.
• Monitor the EAA mailbox and process transfered EAA documentation
• Book, invite and arrange testing for learners accross the group
• Be the primary point of contact for learners and work collaboratively with the wider college community to ensure that the Group meets its duty in terms of the SEND Code of Practice and the JCQ regulations in relation to exam access arrangements.

• Experience of working with students with specific learning difficulties.
• Relevant and current experience of applying exam access requirements in line with JCQ guidelines.
• Have use of own transport or able to travel to multiple sites at short notice.
• IT profficient and able to record all information digitally.
• Strong Awareness of disability issues and equality and diversity issues.
• Excellent organisational skills.
