This is a key, hands‑on role focused on sales, operations, and administration, reporting to the Head of Events & Operations. You'll work closely with the wider team, but enjoy significant autonomy. No two days will be the same.

Key Qualities

The Role

You will plan and deliver events and a limited number of weddings at our primary venue, Civic House. A passion for hospitality is essential to making every event the best it can be.

Hires (Events)

Civic House engages diverse audiences through public and private events, hosting partners like Glasgow Short Film Festival, Counterflows, and Scottish Refugee Council in our unique spaces (Venue, Canteen, Project Space, Studio).

  • Handle email enquiries swiftly and professionally.
  • Convert leads and secure bookings; manage the sales pipeline.
  • Build relationships and generate new business.
  • Host show rounds, providing quotations.
  • Collaborate with the team for seamless event handovers.
  • Balance a busy diary of events, appointments, and planning/admin.
Weddings

Civic House offers couples a unique, rustic, industrial setting for their ceremony or reception. Due to our active cultural calendar, we host a special, limited number (10‑12 per year).

  • Coordinate and plan each wedding flawlessly from start to finish.
  • Work closely with couples to bring their vision to life, coordinating vendors and managing timelines.
  • Provide personalised planning support and guidance.
  • Deliver the event operationally on the day (set up, service, timing).
  • Conduct viewings and provide exceptional customer service.
Terms
  • 30 hours per week – 4 days over 7
  • Weekend and evening hours essential
  • £26,000 pro rata (salary calculated at 0.8 FTE)
