Job description

Fresh Food, Happy Dogs.

We believe dogs deserve the healthiest, most natural and tastiest meals – with none of the nasties. That’s why we make FRESHly prepared food, cooked just like you would at home and delivered direct to our customers in perfect portions. As a B-Corp certified company, you’re joining a sustainable business that genuinely cares about our people, our products and our impact on the planet. Our goal is simple: to help dogs live healthier, happier, and longer lives, while leaving humans smiling after every interaction.

We’ve come a long way since our co-founders (Kev & Dave) hand-delivered the very first Butternut Box. Today, we feed hundreds of thousands of hungry dogs across the UK and Europe – but we won’t stop until we’re feeding dogs everywhere. To get there, we need a team of brilliant people who share that ambition to come and work for us.

A bit about the role

This role historically receives a high volume of applications, so to help us identify the best candidate to join our squad, we truly appreciate cover letters that showcase your interest in the role, our mission, and of course… cats and dogs

We're looking for a proactive, creative, and highly organised Events Coordinator to join our Sales Operations team, supporting the wider Direct Sales department at Butternut Box and Marro.

This role sits within one of our most exciting acquisition channels: Events. Every year we take both of our brands to hundreds of events across the UK with the aim of meeting dog and cat owners and introducing them to Butternut Box and Marro.

As an Events Coordinator, the sales roadmap starts with you. You'll play a pivotal role behind the scenes, helping to plan, coordinate, and deliver exceptional events that enable our sales teams to perform their best. When an event delivers brilliant results, it's because you helped make it happen – from choosing the right opportunity and securing the best deal, to creating a seamless experience for our salespeople on the ground.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love solving problems, enjoy bringing structure to complexity, and get a buzz from turning plans into reality, we'd love to hear from you. You'll own key department KPIs and use performance data to guide your decisions – understanding which events we return to, which we can improve year after year, and where we should invest next.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Build a roadmap that delivers: Develop and manage an exciting, strategically planned events roadmap that drives customer acquisitions and builds awareness of Butternut Box and Marro.
  • Scout and source brilliant opportunities: Research, discover, and pitch new, unique, high-potential sales opportunities for both brands – county fairs, food festivals, exhibitions, shopping centres, high streets – we love meeting pet parents!
  • Build relationships that open doors: Develop strong relationships with event organisers and protect our Butternut Box and Marro brand reputation with every interaction.
  • Sweat the details that move the needle: Secure prime pitch spots, coordinate accommodation, and work closely with our internal logistics team, setting every event up for success.
  • Negotiate like a pro: Secure the best possible rates, prime stand locations, and high-impact event packages to ensure maximum value. A great negotiator doesn't just save money; they get us better positions, better visibility, and better results.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with your Logistics team and Regional Sales Managers to deliver smooth, impactful event experiences.
  • Champion key metrics: Track and analyse event performance against KPIs, sharing actionable insights to help refine our strategy and drive growth.
What we're looking for
  • Seriously organised: You have sharp attention to detail – juggling a packed weekly schedule of multiple events without dropping a ball is your thing.
  • A natural communicator: You're a natural relationship-builder, whether that's charming an event organiser over email or briefing the team before a big weekend.
  • Passionate and energetic: You are genuinely excited by the challenge of getting brands in front of their target audiences in creative ways.
  • A forward thinker: You think beyond the obvious, remain naturally curious, and are always looking for the next opportunity.
  • Agile and calm under pressure: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and stay calm when priorities shift quickly. You know what matters most and you act on it.
  • Relevant experience: You bring experience in events, sales, business development, or a similarly fast-paced commercial role.
  • Pet lovers: You love cats and dogs (duh!).

  • Right to work: For this specific role, we’re unable to offer visa sponsorship, so you’ll need the right to work in the UK.

We believe in a seat at the table for everyone.

We celebrate different nationalities, backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We are specifically committed to increasing representation from underrepresented groups. We want a strong, diverse team built from different identities and lived experiences. We’re not perfect, but we are dedicated to the ongoing work of building an inclusive, supportive place where you can do the best work of your career.
