The Role

The Event Project Management (EPM) Director will oversee the planning and delivery of Formula E events, providing leadership and direction to the Event Project Management and Event Experience teams. This role focuses on maximising efficiencies and ensuring the successful delivery of global events.

Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Establish standard frameworks and processes for events, supporting project leaders across the business with setting up event strategies, concepts, and plans. Contribute to the management of project documents, facilitating corporate planning and reporting across the portfolio of projects. Actively seek ways to improve project organisation and efficiency.

Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams (Brand, Growth, Marketing, Race Promotion, Ticketing, Operations) to ensure a seamless, high-quality and consistent fan experience. Support the Event Experience team to set a comprehensive experience strategy that aligns with brand identity and commercial objectives.
  • Team Management: Line manage a London-based team of 6+ across the Event Experience and Event Project Management teams. Liaise with Host City Directors and Lead Project Managers to ensure a consistent approach across all events. Workshop with internal teams to improve efficiencies on events planning and delivery.
  • Event Planning and Delivery: Lead a team of project managers to ensure the delivery of select existing events on the Formula E World Championship Calendar through all phases (planning, build, live, and de-rig). Facilitate coordination of event cycle processes and ensure cross-departmental integration, including chairing weekly planning meetings and debrief sessions when required. Manage and be accountable for the departmental budget with a holistic, season-wide perspective for improvements.
What we’re looking for
  • Experience and Expertise: You have proven and extensive experience in a similar position managing complex projects of a significant scale across various international markets. You have hands-on experience driving resourceful and focused projects with the ability to demonstrate results. Proven experience in team management is essential. Experience working within Motorsport is a plus.

You possess good knowledge of data analysis, reporting, and budgeting. You have the ability to recognise and contribute to strategic, tactical, and operational activities and their commercial impact to the business. Project management certification (e.g. PMP or PRINCE2) is a plus.
  • Mindset and Communication: You are a clear and effective communicator with outstanding relationship building and stakeholder management skills. You have excellent organisational, management and leadership skills. You must be able to work autonomously in pressured environments.
  • Willingness to Travel: Willingness to travel is essential, often for sustained periods and at short notice. Travel is expected to 4-5 event locations and key additional site visits for race prospects purposes.
