Job summary

A leading financial institution is seeking an Event Manager to provide end-to-end leadership and coordination for various events. The role requires overseeing logistics, managing teams, and facilitating communication with stakeholders. This position offers a hybrid work environment in Edinburgh, ensuring flexibility and support for work-life balance. Daily rates range between £350 and £500.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Event Design Lead to identify key cutover activities.
  • Work across all Work Streams to define detailed cutover scope and plan.
  • Embed the use of appropriate tooling and consistent structure for building runbooks.
  • Plan and manage the event runbook creation.
  • Set up the Command and Control organization for major events.
  • Define & embed the incident management process for events.
  • Agree ways of working and joint milestones with the buyer.
  • Define and track entry and exit criteria across all workstreams.
  • Manage the staffing of rotas for events.
  • Facilitate event Go/No-Go meetings.
  • Manage the execution of the event, MI reporting, and issue management.
Job description
Job Title: Event Manager

Provide end to end Leadership, planning, coordination and execution of events including overseeing logistics, stakeholder communication and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the Event Design Lead to identify key cutover activities, execution sequence & dependencies (across all events including test phases, dress rehearsals and LD1)
  • Work across all Work Streams (For Example - TSA, Value Streams, Data Transfer) to define detailed cutover scope and plan (and all associated artefacts)
  • Embed the use of appropriate tooling and consistent structure for building runbooks
  • Plan and manage the event runbook creation
  • Set up the Command and Control organization and operating model for major events
  • Define & embed the incident management process for events both internally and with the buyer
  • Agree ways of working and joint milestones/interlocks with the buyer
  • Define and track entry and exit criteria across all workstreams for events both internally as well as with the buyer
  • Manage the staffing of rotas to ensure all teams are fully resourced to support events
  • Facilitate event Go/No-Go meeting
  • Manage the execution of the event, MI reporting, issue management and escalation
  • Incorporate lessons learnt from past events
