St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. Job Summary

St John Ambulance is England’s leading first aid charity, with a bold ambition to become the market leader in Event Healthcare. We are now seeking an Event Healthcare Delivery Lead to help bring this vision to life. In this pivotal role, you will lead and support the delivery of event healthcare services across your region, ensuring an exceptional customer experience and high standards of operational excellence. You will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of event opportunities, from planning through to delivery, while working closely with internal teams and external partners to maximise growth and ensure strong governance. This is a dynamic and varied role that requires flexibility, as it involves regular travel within your region, occasional national travel with overnight stays, and working on‑site at events to support successful service delivery. A 5‑out‑of‑7‑day working pattern will be required to meet the needs of both the organisation and our customers.

About You
  • Experienced in leading teams (both employee and volunteer‑based) across geographically dispersed settings to deliver high‑quality event healthcare services
  • Proven track record in managing commercial operations with turnovers of £0.75m or more, and in developing operational processes that ensure consistency and compliance
  • Skilled in building collaborative, results‑focused teams and fostering strong partnerships with external organisations and customers.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with the capability to inspire, delegate, prioritise, and make sound decisions while navigating complex or conflicting priorities.
  • In‑depth knowledge of the event industry, including regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and safety best practices, complemented by excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
About the Role
  • Lead a team in the planning, delivery, and management of Event Healthcare opportunities, identifying ways to enhance charitable impact and profitability
  • Drive high standards of customer service by gathering feedback, ensuring satisfaction, and building strong relationships with existing and potential event customers
  • Ensure full compliance with national standards and internal governance, contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of procedures and reporting processes
  • Maximise revenue growth and profit margins while maintaining consistency, fairness, and a positive experience for our people, customers, and patients
  • Produce high‑quality documentation aligned with client expectations and take ownership of specific areas of the Event Healthcare service based on your expertise, actively involving and empowering St John people in continuous improvement.
