Event Director Overview

We are looking for a full‑time (35 hours per week) Event Director who can support our growing Events Department. As the Event Director, you will have a diverse and varied role. You’ll collaborate with our global teams to support company initiatives and uncover innovative solutions, while taking a proactive approach to your day‑to‑day responsibilities.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Staff Management
    • Be responsible for winning and delivering a wide range of global events including creating quality proposals, managing detailed logistics, proactive event planning, on‑site event delivery and financial management
    • Be the first port of call for the Events team to provide advice, guidance, support, mentoring and training
  • Event Management & Delivery
    • Ensure all proposals meet company/client requirements and expectations
    • Take the lead on larger complex Events, ensuring all standard event management requirements are fulfilled
  • Client Relationships
    • Account manage selected clients to ensure TAG is offering a consistently proactive event management service
    • Generate repeat business from the existing client‑base and actively seek opportunities to gain new clients
  • Business Development & Commercial Decision Making
    • Lead the team in the research, writing, design and presentation of quality, creative proposals to meet client requirements and win business
    • Actively seek new clients through networking, client recommendations and cross selling with other TAG divisions
  • Events Budget Management
    • Monitor TAG divisional and client event budgets. Make financial commercial decisions in conjunction with the Director of Events.
    • Work with the team to ensure annual targets for TTV, gross profit and EBITDA are met.
  • Supplier Management & Relationships
    • Develop strong supplier relationships to ensure TAG receives the best possible service, value for money and event support.
Qualifications
  • Education to Degree level or higher in related field or in lieu of education
  • Minimum of 5 years event organising experience, managing multiple client accounts
  • Extensive knowledge of the event industry and events market
  • Proven record of successful complex event management and high client satisfaction
  • Demonstrated managerial qualities and understanding of business goals
