Job summary

Northumberland County Council is hiring Residential Support Workers for Coanwood Children’s Home in Cramlington. The roles include early and late shifts and sleep-ins with enhanced pay for nights and weekends.

Salaries range from £29,542 to £32,046 (Band 5) with additional annual enhancements depending on spinal point. We offer a comprehensive induction, ongoing training, diploma support (Level 3, with potential Level 4), and progression opportunities within NCC.

Qualifications

• Good general education and willingness to undertake relevant training.
• You will be supported to complete the Diploma Level 3 in Residential Child Care, with opportunities to complete the Level 4 Diploma.
• All staff have access to induction and training and development opportunities within NCC.

Responsibilities

• Care for four young people aged 6–17 years, addressing emotional, social and educational needs.
• Work under direction to ensure quality, safe and effective care of each young person.
• Shift pattern includes early/late shifts and sleep-ins; some weekends and bank holidays.
