Job summary

South East Water is seeking an experienced Microbiology Analyst for a 6‑month fixed term contract to perform and guide complex microbiological analyses, detecting faecal indicator bacteria and protozoa.

Based in our state-of-the-art laboratories, you will operate using our Laboratory Management System, maintain equipment, and contribute to continuous improvement while working twilight shifts with a 15% allowance.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a scientific subject.
• Willing to work toward full membership of a professional body.
• Excellent numeracy, literacy, and laboratory skills.
• Experience with good laboratory practice (GLP) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain instrumentation in line with LIMS.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Analyse data and complete laboratory paperwork.
• Enter data into LIMS within required timeframes.
• Prepare standards and QC samples per procedures.
• Support ongoing professional development.
