Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a part‑time evening Domestic Assistant/Cleaner at Dumbarton Health Centre to maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control throughout the building.

The role requires following a set schedule, cleaning clinical and non‑clinical areas, using cleaning agents safely, and keeping daily records; a flexible approach to routines is expected. NHS Scotland benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe and effective cleaning practices.
• Understanding of the safe use and storage of cleaning agents.
• Ability to follow manufacturers' instructions and departmental procedures.
• Willingness to use mechanical cleaning equipment where required.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements, including PPE.
• Ability to accurately complete daily and weekly cleaning records and sign‑off documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide an efficient, high‑quality domestic service to patients and staff.
• Follow a specific work schedule for allocated areas.
• Clean clinical and non‑clinical areas within the health centre.
• Carry out cleaning tasks including wet mopping, vacuuming, bin emptying, replenishing supplies, cleaning fixtures and furniture, and toilet/bathroom areas.
• Adopt a flexible approach to daily routines.
• Use cleaning agents safely and economically, following manufacturers' instructions.
• Operate mechanical cleaning equipment where required.
• Wear protective clothing provided by the department.
• Complete daily and weekly sign‑off sheets for assigned work areas.
