Qualifications

Evening Cleaner – West Berkshire Hospital

Salary: £12.50 per hour

Hours: 10–13 hours per week (rotating)

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Thatcham, RG18 3AS

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable Evening Cleaner to join the team at West Berkshire Hospital. This permanent role involves cleaning two units within the hospital and helping maintain a safe, hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 17:00 – 19:00

Alternate Saturdays: 18:30 – 21:30

Rotating weekly hours: 10 hours one week, 13 hours the next

Additional hours may be available to cover sickness or holidays (up to 4 hours per shift)

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Cleaning designated hospital units to required standards
  • Mopping, vacuuming, emptying bins
  • Cleaning toilets and replenishing supplies
  • Wiping down surfaces and maintaining hygiene across all areas
  • Completing weekly paperwork to confirm tasks have been carried out
  • Working alongside other cleaning staff
  • Following health and safety procedures at all times
What We’re Looking For
  • Essential: Minimum 2 years’ cleaning experience
  • Desirable: Previous experience in a hospital or clinical environment (training provided)
  • Other Requirements:
    • Driving licence preferred due to location, but public transport acceptable if local
    • Flexibility to provide last‑minute cover when needed
    • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
