We are seeking an experienced and motivated Evening Chef to join our catering team at DPD. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll lead the evening service, ensuring food is prepared to a high standard, compliance is maintained, and the team is supported to deliver great customer service.

What you'll do
  • Prepare and deliver high‑quality meals in line with Sodexo and client standards.
  • Lead the kitchen team during evening shifts, motivating and supporting staff.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, health & safety and audit requirements.
  • Maintain accurate stock control and support with financial performance.
  • Keep the food offer fresh and up to date, driving customer satisfaction and sales.
  • Walk the floor to maintain visibility and ensure excellent service at all times.
  • Train, coach, and develop the team, promoting good morale and performance.
  • Support other sites when required to maintain consistency of service.
What you'll bring
  • Proven chef experience with strong leadership skills.
  • Good knowledge of food safety, health & safety, and audit compliance.
  • Commercial awareness, including cost control and stock management.
  • Flexible approach to working patterns and the ability to adapt when needed.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car (mileage paid).
  • A hands‑on, proactive attitude and ability to motivate others.
Desirable experience
  • Experience in contract catering or multi‑site operations.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and safeguarding audits.
  • Experience leading evening or late‑shift kitchen teams.
