Job summary

Essex Cares Limited is seeking a Care Assistant for reablement work in Canvey Island and surrounding South Essex areas. You will help customers regain independence, assist with daily tasks such as personal care and meals, and travel between clients using your own vehicle.

No prior care experience is required as full training will be provided, with mentorship and guaranteed contracted hours after induction. The role offers a range of shifts including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have full driving licence and own vehicle.
• Willingness to travel around South Essex (Canvey, Rayleigh, Rochford and surrounds).
• No previous care experience required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with personal care, mobility and meals to help regain independence.
• Provide care in customers' own homes within the community.

Mileage: 55p per mile

Contract: 30 hour contracts available,

Shifts: W eekday evenings shifts (3.00pm to 11.00pm) weekend shifts (7.00am-3.00pm & 3.00pm-11.00pm)

Full driving licence and own vehicle is essential.
Travel required– You will be required to travel around South Essex, predominantly Canvey, Rayleigh, Rochford and surrounding areas.

About You

As a Care Assistant in reablement, you’ll be playing a key role in helping our customers regain their independence and continue living in their own home. This could include helping clients to relearn skills in their lives, such as personal care, mobility and preparing meals. You don’t need to have any previous experience as we will provide you with all the training you need.

Once you are trained, you will be assigned a mentor who will take you out to meet some of our customers and work alongside you until you are confident in the role. After your induction training, with guaranteed contracted hours, we will support you to progress within the company, paying for ongoing specialist training, nationally recognised qualifications and well-being support.

As this is a Care Assistant role in the community, we will need you to have access to a car and a full driving licence with business insurance. With rising petrol costs, we offer the government maximum tax-free mileage allowance of 55p per mile as well as paying your time travelling between customers.
