Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd is assisting a prominent automotive accident repair group to recruit a skilled MET Technician for their newly established Abergavenny bodyshop. The role offers overtime and a comprehensive benefits package as part of joining a brand‑new site in development. Applicants should have a recognised MET/vehicle body repair qualification (IMI or equivalent) or substantial body repair experience; valid UK driving licence required.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in automotive MET/vehicle body repair, or working towards an IMI qualification.
• Extensive body repair/strip and fit experience also considered in lieu of formal qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Remove damaged parts to facilitate repairs.
• Safely store displaced parts for refitting.
• Identify and report additional damage or parts required.
• Ensure all parts are correct to maintain workflow.
• Refit and reassemble vehicles to manufacturer standards.
• Replace mechanical components such as steering, drivetrain and engine parts.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
• Participate in safety training and team meetings.
• Work effectively to meet deadlines both independently and with the team.
