Job summary

Johnsons Cars in Solihull is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join a high-volume, quality-focused workshop. You will perform advanced diagnostics, use manufacturer systems and state-of-the-art equipment to fault-find across a broad range of vehicles, including EVs.

The role offers a substantial bonus potential and paid overtime. Working within a busy Solihull workshop, you’ll be expected to complete repairs to manufacturer standards, record diagnostic work accurately, and

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Strong diagnostic experience in a dealership or busy workshop.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Electrical fault-finding experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out advanced diagnostics and fault-finding across a range of vehicles.
• Using modern diagnostic equipment and manufacturer systems.
• Identifying and resolving complex electrical and mechanical issues.
• Supporting the workshop with technical expertise and guidance when required.
• Completing repairs in line with manufacturer standards.
• Accurately recording diagnostic processes and completed work.
• Carrying out vehicle health checks (EVHC) and identifying additional work.
