Job description

Montel is growing once again and we’re on the lookout for a talented sales professional to join us at our Teesside office, joining a knowledgeable and supportive team that enjoys working well together.

We’re looking for a driven and confident sales executive to help us grow our presence across European energy markets, selling access to the full suite of Montel services. From trusted market news and real-time price data to powerful analytics tools like EnAppSys, Energy Quantified, PriceIT, QWatt and SysPower, offering industry-leading products that make a real difference to our clients.

Please note: We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Job Location

We’re looking for someone based in the UK who can work from our Stockton-on-Tees office full time to start with. Once your induction is done, you’ll have the flexibility to be in the office at least two days a week. We get that everyone has their own way of working, so we offer a flexible, hybrid setup to help make that work for you.

A typical day will include:
  • Identify and qualify new sales leads across the UK and European energy markets, using a combination of tools like email, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, telephone, etc.
  • Respond to incoming enquiries, qualify leads and manage the full sales process from first contact to closing the deal.
  • Manage existing accounts by handling renewals and identifying opportunities to introduce additional products.
  • Book in product demos for prospects. You’ll deliver the demos for our more straightforward tools, while our subject experts will support with the more technical platforms.
  • Keep your sales activity up to date in our CRM system, making sure account info is accurate and current.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of potential customers.
  • Aim to meet or exceed your sales targets.
  • Attend industry events and conferences to represent Montel, build connections and keep up with market trends.
  • Work closely with colleagues across different teams to make sure we’re giving customers the best possible experience.

Your role will be shaped around your experience and strengths, with plenty of support to help you grow into it.

What we are looking for.

Experience Level:

We are seeking applicants with a proven sales background but would also like to hear from applicants with a strong understanding of European Power Markets. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • 2-4 years sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field, and an interest in building a sales career in the energy tech sector
General Requirements:
  • Experience using CRM systems and managing a sales pipeline.
  • Great people skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
  • A self-starter who’s motivated and organised.
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Fluent in English (any extra languages are a bonus).
  • Comfortable using MS Office, with some knowledge of CRM and subscription management tools.
  • Some understanding of energy markets is helpful, but not a must.
  • Willing to travel within Europe when needed for the role.
We offer:
  • Salary: Competitive (negotiable depending on experience).
  • Hybrid and flexible working.
  • 25 days annual holiday.
  • Company pension.
  • Opportunities for career growth and plenty of training opportunities.
  • Private health care.
  • Group life insurance and income protection.
  • Opportunity for European travel.
  • Regular social activities and events.
