Job summary

VIRTUS Data Centres is seeking a Group Commissioning Director to govern the commissioning strategy across Europe for data centre projects, ensuring design, install, test, and handover meet standards and ISO requirements.

You will lead a regional commissioning team across UK, Germany, Italy and other locations, driving IST readiness, documentation, and safe energisation while maintaining performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; master’s degree preferred.
Professional specialist development in MEP systems, data centre engineering and mission-critical commissioning; commissioning certification preferred.
Project management qualification or formal project management training within engineering/construction would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

Own and continuously improve the commissioning framework, playbook and regional standards across the UK and Europe.
Build and lead a regional commissioning team across multiple European locations.
Lead the full commissioning lifecycle from design review through IST, FAT/SAT, defect closure and handover.
Ensure commissioning deliverables are planned, evidenced, and completed to standard.
