Job summary

AMB Recruitment Group is looking for an Estimator or Senior Estimator to join a Telford office on a hybrid basis. The role involves reviewing tender packs, preparing cost estimates and analysing subcontractor quotations to support strong bids.

Candidates with civil engineering estimating experience across structural repairs or related construction sectors are encouraged to apply. A UK driving licence and CSCS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven estimating experience within structural repairs, civil engineering, or related construction sector.
• Multi-disciplinary knowledge across concrete repair, structural strengthening, and refurbishment of bridges and structures.
• A degree in civil engineering or related discipline is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder engagement across teams.
• Full UK driving licence; CSCS.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications to define scope and identify risks and opportunities.
• Prepare conceptual, budget and firm-price cost estimates, building up labour, plant, materials and subcontract costs.
• Issue enquiries, analyse subcontractor quotations, and build robust cost comparisons.
• Conduct site visits to understand constraints, logistics and methodology.
• Work closely with Operations, Technical, Commercial and HSQE teams to ensure estimates are deliverable and safe.
• Develop bid clarification and risk registers, and support governance and submission documentation.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners, supporting wider business development.

Our client is a well-established specialist contractor working across civil engineering and structural repair, delivering complex projects on bridges, structures and major infrastructure UK-wide. They offer a varied, technically interesting workload spanning structural rehabilitation and strengthening through to elements of major new-build schemes.

They’re looking to add either an Estimator or a Senior Estimator to their Telford office he right level will be shaped around your experience, so candidates at any stage of an estimating career are encouraged to apply.

The role

What we're looking for

• A degree in civil engineering or a related discipline is advantageous but not essential
• Strong commercial awareness and confident stakeholder engagement across operational and technical teams
• Full UK driving licence; CSCS
