Job summary

People Group is seeking Estimators at all levels to join a leading UK infrastructure consultancy. You will develop robust cost plans and estimates across major transport, utilities, energy and infrastructure schemes, supporting informed client investment decisions.

You will work with project controls, commercial and design teams to develop integrated cost baselines and provide commercial insight for delivery, with responsibilities ranging from early concept through developed design and value

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating or cost planning for large-scale infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
• Background in either a consultancy or main contractor environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project controls and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Producing cost plans and detailed estimates from early concept through to developed design.
• Developing estimating strategies and ensuring a consistent approach across projects.
• Managing the estimating process for major programmes or specific work packages.
• Collaborating with engineers, designers, commercial teams and contractors to obtain accurate cost information.
• Undertaking benchmarking, cost modelling and analysis using market data.
• Recording assumptions, exclusions, data sources and estimating methodologies to ensure transparency.
• Supporting value engineering and value management initiatives.
• Contributing to risk assessment, contingency modelling and three-point estimating techniques.
• Preparing high-quality reports and presenting cost information to clients and project stakeholders.
