Job summary

Lindum Peterborough Projects seeks an experienced Estimator to join our team, delivering competitive and accurate tendering for projects up to £10m. Based at our Fengate offices, you will work on a mix of new build and refurbishment schemes across the region.

You will review tender documents, prepare bills of quantities, cost plans and budgets, and engage with internal teams to ensure timely submissions. The role offers a supportive environment with pension, training, and progression

Qualifications

• Building background with refurbishment and new build knowledge across sectors.
• Experience with traditional and design & build tenders.
• Ability to appraise tender documents and produce detailed measured quantities.
• Strong budgeting, cost planning and risk/value management.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join the Lindum Peterborough Projects team who deliver competitive and accurate tendering functions for projects up to £10m. Based at our modern offices in Fengate, our Peterborough division undertakes a variety of new build and refurbishment projects in the region.

Every day is different as we work to find solutions; whether detailed programmes for building on highly constrained sites, delivering complex building designs or working through supply chain challenges, all while putting the clients first and having fun.

Requirements

• Candidates must have a building background with extensive knowledge of all aspects of refurbishment and new build construction across numerous sectors
• Traditional and Design & Build tenders
• Appraising tender documents, preparing sub-contract and material enquiries
• Producing detailed and measured bills of quantities
• Risk and value management
• Preparation of budgets, estimates and cost plans
• Internal tender adjudications and external client presentations
• Have a good understanding of current CDM 2015 Health and Safety requirements, modern methods of construction and contractual awareness
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel
• Experience using specialist estimating software packages
• A High Education qualification (HNC, Diploma, Degree) in a construction-related subject would be an advantage

The successful candidate must have high attention to detail, provide an innovative and proactive approach to problem solving whilst being able to plan effectively to ensure deadlines are met.
