Estimator – Commercial Fit-Out

Location: Berkshire (Office-based)
Salary: £75,000 + mileage (government rate) + statutory pension

The Company

A well‑established commercial refurbishment and fit‑out contractor delivering high‑quality projects across London and the South East is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing team. Projects typically range between £300k and £2m, with an annual turnover of £7m–£10m. The company has built a strong reputation for reliability, precision, and professionalism, and works through a balanced mix of competitive tendering, JCT Design & Build, and negotiated contracts.

The Role

This is a hands‑on, office‑based role within a close‑knit team that values quality, teamwork, and a “work hard, play hard” culture. You’ll work alongside the Operations Director and wider commercial team to prepare accurate, competitive, and commercially sound tenders for refurbishment and fit‑out projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, tender submissions, and bills of quantities
• Evaluate drawings, specifications, and client requirements to ensure accurate pricing and identify value engineering opportunities
• Collaborate with project managers, quantity surveyors, and directors to develop well‑structured, deliverable bids
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients
• Support commercial handovers and provide ongoing cost input during project delivery

• Proven experience as an Estimator within commercial refurbishment or fit‑out
• Understanding of JCT contracts, Design & Build, and negotiated projects
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen with excellent attention to detail
