About the Role

Pro-Group Recruitment are partnering with a leading, fire safety organisation, to recruit an Estimator for their active fire division.

Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing Fire Protection team, specialising in active fire systems across both commercial and residential buildings. This is a home-based role with occasional travel to client sites and company offices as required.

You will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive tenders for fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems. The role will suit a detail-oriented professional with a solid technical background in the fire protection or building services industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates and tender submissions for active fire systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, suppression systems, etc.).
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and technical documents to develop accurate costings.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
  • Work closely with project managers and design teams to ensure compliant and profitable bids.
  • Attend pre- and post-tender meetings as required (virtual or on-site).
  • Maintain and update estimating databases and pricing models.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Estimator within the fire protection, mechanical & electrical, or building services sector.
  • Strong understanding of BS 5839, BS 5306, and related fire system standards.
  • Ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Competent in MS Office and estimating software (e.g., Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar).
  • Full UK driving licence (for occasional site visits).
