Job summary

Stonbury Limited is looking for an Estimator to join our Waterlooville team. You will handle tender management, pricing strategies and cost budgeting for water and environmental projects.

The role requires coordination with delivery colleagues and stakeholders to ensure accurate estimates and on-time tender submissions. The ideal candidate will have experience in NEC contract pricing, strong Excel skills, and a proactive approach to scoping surveys and cost analysis.

Responsibilities

• Receive enquiries and tenders through framework contracts and coordinate start-up meetings.

• Obtain prices for surveys/investigations and price items from first principles where needed.
• Prepare cost budgets for quotations to forecast gross margin.
• Produce prices in line with contracts and framework rates.

Join our Commercial team in Waterlooville as an Estimator and help drive our projects forward.

• Up to £65k doe plus a company car or £6k car allowance

We’re looking for passionate individuals ready to grow alongside us. You will be responsible for receiving, managing, processing and submitting tenders and quotations through existing framework contracts, as well as supporting the Quantity Surveyors with pricing significant Variations.

• Receive enquiries and tenders for works through framework contracts.
• Complete a BRMR (Bid Risk Management Record) form and comply with the BRMR process requirements for sign off approval.
• Co-ordinate and manage the tender process; arranging an initial start-up meeting, ensuring the correct resource is allocated, setting a tender programme and list of actions, liaising with key stakeholders through the tender process, and ensuring tender outputs are achieved and deadlines are met.
• Undertake scoping visits.
• Obtain prices for any surveys or investigations required in order to assist development of the Scope.
• Assess the requirements for temporary works, method related works, and preliminary items in co-ordination with Delivery colleagues (Project Manager / Site Co-ordinator).
• Produce the Price in accordance with the contract and the Framework Schedule of Rates.
• Where scope items are not covered by agreed framework rates, price items from first principles.
• Produce a cost budget for each quotation/tender to calculate gross margin forecast.
• Relevant degree in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, construction related discipline, or significant work experience.
• Experience of pricing works to NEC contracts.
• Experience of pricing works from first principles.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with other team members, clients and Possess strong IT skills, in particular MS Excel.
