A leading risk management solutions provider in the UK is seeking a skilled Estimator to manage quotes and support project delivery. The ideal candidate will hold a Level 4 qualification in Engineering/Surveying and have experience in infrastructure inspection. Qualifications

  • Previous infrastructure inspection/examination site experience (e.g., STE4/STE7/STE6 Examiner (rail), or BICS Inspector (highways)).
  • Experience in the rail sector would be advantageous.
  • UK driving licence required.

  • Determine labour, plant and material costs for tenders.
  • Engage with supply chain and manage supplier database.
  • Prepare and check accurate and thorough quotations.
  • Support project handover process ensuring operational delivery.
  • Receive and record tender enquiries.
  • Conduct site visits as required.

Responsibilities
  • Determine labour, plant and material costs for tenders based on scoping documents and engagement with Operations and Technical teams
  • Engage with supply chain and manage supplier database to gather quotes from subcontractors
  • Prepare and check accurate and thorough quotations
  • Provide regular updates on tenders to interested parties both internally and externally
  • Support project handover process ensuring the operational delivery team is fully informed on all projects
  • Receive and accurately record tender enquiries
  • Develop resource estimates, working closely with sales team and Project Managers
  • Prepare quotation documents for approval
  • Engage with suppliers and clients over the phone
  • Carry out site visits as required
  • Deputise for Estimating Manager when they are on leave
Qualifications
  • Level 4 qualification in a related subject (Engineering/Surveying)
  • Previous infrastructure inspection/examination site experience (e.g., STE4/STE7/STE6 Examiner (rail), or BICS Inspector (highways))
  • Analytical skills
  • Experience using Excel
  • Experience in the rail sector would be advantageous
  • UK driving licence
