Job summary

Caralex Recruitment are working with a Wiltshire-based construction company to recruit an Estimator. You will measure, take off and produce bills of quantities for projects across Wiltshire and Berkshire, including refurbishments, extensions and listed building work. The role involves obtaining quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, maintaining cost libraries, and overseeing valuations and variations throughout the build process. Travel across Wiltshire and Berkshire is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating or quantity surveying within construction.
• Ability to measure from drawings or client meetings without drawings.

Job description

Caralex Recruitment are working with a construction company in Wiltshire to help them find an Estimator.

You will be working on a range of construction projects covering Wiltshire and Berkshire, including refurbishments, extensions, listed building renovations, barn conversions, and more.

The role will entail measuring, taking off and producing bills of quantities. As many of the projects are refurbs, measuring may take place at a client meeting at a project without drawings, or be done from plans at the office.

It will also entail seeking out quotes from subcontractors, material suppliers, consultants etc, and building and maintaining a library of costs for future reference.

The role will continue through the construction process and oversee valuations and variations.

Candidates will need to have previously worked in an estimating or quantity surveying role for a construction company, and able to travel across the Wiltshire and Berkshire area.
