About the Role

We are seeking 2 Mechanical Estimators to join our successful Pre-Contract team within a leading mechanical, electrical, and public health services company specialising in large-scale residential, student accommodation, and hotel projects. Reporting to the Mechanical Estimating Manager, you will take responsibility for the full tender process, from initial bid preparation to post-tender control, ensuring high standards and timely delivery. The role requires a mechanically biased knowledge base with a broad understanding of electrical engineering services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed tender bids and cost plans.
  • Attend mid- and post-tender meetings.
  • Manage post-tender activities and cost control.
  • Interface with existing and prospective clients.
  • Communicate and liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers, generating new leads where necessary.
  • Manage the day-to-day tender process to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards.
  • Work effectively within an integrated M&E team environment.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Pro-active, approachable, and able to lead by example.
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of mechanical building services.
  • Broad understanding of electrical services associated with projects.
  • Commercial awareness to ensure tenders are financially sound.
  • Strong knowledge of suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Experience in residential, student accommodation, or hotel projects.
  • Flexible and able to manage deadlines efficiently.
  • Computer literate with experience of estimating software (e.g., Trimble Estimation) and electronic tender/document control systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work as part of a team and maintain strong professional relationships
