Overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimator to join a rapidly growing organisation operating nationally across earthworks, civils, aggregates, demolition and large-scale technical projects. This role is central to successful tendering, requiring strong analytical ability, commercial awareness, and excellent attention to detail. You will work closely with project teams to provide accurate, competitive and realistic cost estimates that support successful bids and contribute to the organisation's continued expansion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating & Cost Analysis
    • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for earthworks, civil engineering and demolition projects.
    • Analyse drawings, specifications, tender documents and scope requirements.
    • Identify labour, plant, materials and subcontractor requirements for pricing.
  • Supplier & Subcontractor Liaison
    • Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
    • Build strong relationships to secure competitive pricing and reliable supply chains.
    • Assess subcontractor capabilities, risks and compliance with tender requirements.
  • Tender Preparation
    • Prepare tender submissions and pricing schedules.
    • Work closely with project and commercial teams to review and refine costings.
    • Support the development of bid strategies and value engineering opportunities.
  • Risk & Opportunity Management
    • Identify cost risks, programme risks and potential opportunities.
    • Support value engineering proposals to improve competitiveness.
    • Provide accurate cost advice, budgets and estimates for pre-contract decision making.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Maintain close communication with Project Managers, Directors and commercial teams.
    • Attend meetings related to tender reviews and bid clarifications.
    • Ensure all cost information is presented clearly, professionally and on time.
