Job summary

Enable is a diverse group delivering infrastructure solutions with lasting community value. We are seeking an Estimator to join the pre-construction and commercial team in Greater London to support ongoing project wins.

Ideally you have energy connections, renewables or power experience, but other infrastructure sectors such as highways or rail are welcome. You will handle take-offs, BoQ pricing and tender preparation while collaborating with Bid Managers, QS and planners to secure profitable

Qualifications

  • Experience in infrastructure construction estimating.
  • Experience with take-offs, BoQ and pricing.
  • Proven ability to prepare timely estimates and supporting adjudication packs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and estimating software.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare estimates from tender requirements (PQQ/ITT).
  • Review BoQ take-offs and client information.
  • Provide basis of estimate and key assumptions to Pre-con team.
  • Handover packs to site teams on contract award.
  • Maintain records of adjudication meetings and actions.

Given recent project wins and growth in the energy connections industry we are seeking to employ an Estimator to join pre-construction and commercial team. For this role you will ideally possess an energy connections, renewables or power background, however, other infrastructure construction considered such as highways, rail, civil engineering.

We require a junior or experienced Estimator with experience in take off measurements, bill of quantities preparation and obtaining information from the teams for pricing of tenders/bids.

The Role

The Estimator will be responsible for the timely preparation of estimates and presentation to the Pre-con team prior to management approval to enable the securing of potentially profitable work for the organisation, and ensure that bids are attractive to our customers. The successful candidate will contribute to our company\'s growth and reputation by supporting the delivery of high-quality, competitive bids that align with project requirements and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Estimates
    • Interpreting client tender requirements from PQQ and ITT documentation
    • Take off and review the BoQ’s from the client information
    • Prepare estimates in accordance with Company procedures promptly
    • Collate supporting information during the estimating process, including opportunity and risk registers, together with key assumptions registers.
    • Work collaboratively with the Bid Manager, Quantity Surveyors, and planner to agree on methodology and principles.
    • Work alongside the Business Development officers on strategic PQQ’s and ITTs.
    • Work in partnership with the procurement team.
    • Prepare the estimating adjudication pack
    • Present the basis of the estimate and key assumptions
    • Maintain notes of adjudication meetings
    • Close out actions and monitor customer negotiations, seeking amended authority as required
  • Handover to site teams at contract award
    • Prepare to estimate the handover pack
    • Present the basis of the estimate and key assumptions
    • Maintain notes of the handover meeting
    • Provide ongoing support to site teams relating to estimating and key assumptions
Essential
  • Proven estimating experience with in infrastructure construction projects, ideally energy/power, other sectors considered.
  • Competence in construction techniques and the associated resource requirements for the above sectors
  • Proficient with tender build-ups
  • Experience in take off measurements, BoQ and pricing
  • Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages
  • Numerate and familiar with estimating software
  • A confident demeanour and the ability to liaise with all levels of personnel and customers
  • Causeway Estimating Software experience or similar, Excel.
  • Degree qualified in construction management, quantity surveying, civil or electrical engineering or similar.
