Due to continued growth within their Construction Division, they are looking for a skilled Estimator to join their team in Glasgow.

The Role

As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in securing new business by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil engineering and construction projects. Working closely with our pre-construction, engineering, and commercial teams, you will assess project requirements and contribute to successful tender submissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
• Assess material, labour, and equipment requirements
• Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
• Contribute to bid strategy and support tender presentations
• Ensure estimates are submitted in line with deadlines and client requirements
• Maintain and update estimating databases and pricing libraries

Requirements

• Proven experience in an Estimator role within the construction or civil engineering sector, ideally on groundworks packages
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry pricing
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office suite
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• HND/Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management is desirable
