Estimator / Senior Estimator (Infrastructure)

Locations: Birmingham, Bristol, London, Manchester or Glasgow
Salary: Up to £70,000 Depending on Experience
Hybrid Working: 2-3 Days a Week On-Site (Either Office or Client Site)

Deliver complex infrastructure projects as an Estimator for this large consultancy. The organisation offers hybrid working options, double-matched pension, medical and dental insurance, and other benefits that can be tailored to meet individual needs.

Responsibilities
  • Support estimating service delivery, focusing on producing estimates from feasibility through to detailed design across different projects and sectors.
  • Produce Class 5 (order of magnitude) to Class 1 (bottom‑up, first principles) estimates.
  • Work closely with the team, supporting leadership in winning new work, mentoring junior colleagues, and peer‑reviewing outputs from team members.
  • Use client benchmarking data, in‑house data and market data to independently form and assess estimates. Use estimating specific software where appropriate.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction or a similar field.
  • Experience in estimating for infrastructure, transport or energy sectors.
  • Chartership with or demonstrably working towards RICS, ICE, AACE, ACostE or a similar body.
  • Wider understanding of commercial and contractual requirements, including estimating or forecasting costs, indirect costs, cost breakdown structures and cost analysis.
  • Stakeholder engagement skills, including working with designers, engineers, project managers and clients.
  • A consultancy mindset, adaptable to work across multiple sectors and disciplines.
