• Coordinate with design to ensure timely product drawings.

Cogent Staffing are seeking an experienced Estimating Assistant to join our client based in Halifax. The ideal candidate will have a background in either a Builders Merchant or a manufacturing role within the building industry, and will have concrete/stone experience.

Work Details & Salary

• £25,000 for entry-level; up to £40,000 for experienced candidates
• Monday to Friday
• 08:00 - 16:00
• Full-time, permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

• Register incoming enquiries and ensure all documentation is saved in job folders, with communications recorded appropriately.
• Prepare take-offs from architectural drawings to create accurate estimates.
• Develop detailed estimates and send them to customers while adhering to strict deadlines.
• Verify all incoming purchase orders for accuracy.
• Handle technical and product sample requests from customers.
• Collaborate with the finance department to ensure all accounts are managed effectively.
• Acknowledge customer purchase orders along with the company's terms and conditions.
• Instruct and coordinate with the design department to ensure timely issuance of product drawings to customers.
• Ensure that issued drawings receive customer approval and are signed off for manufacture.
• Raise sales orders with the production department to guarantee that customers receive their goods as agreed.
• Support the National Sales Manager with customer service issues as needed.
• Generate enquiry and sales reports at regular intervals as directed by your line manager.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience in the precast concrete or cast stone sector, and in a similar role.
• Background in a Builders Merchant or experience in construction supply chain manufacturing is preferred.
• Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
• Proactive problem-solving attitude with a commitment to meeting customer demands.
• CAD experience is preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
