Estates Technician

Are you a qualified Electrical or Mechanical Technician with relevant practical experience? Join our Estates Engineering Team and play a pivotal role keeping our Trust's critical services running 24/7. You'll be tackling Planned Preventative Maintenance, emergency breakdowns and installations across multiple sites.

What You'll Bring
  • Recognised Electrical or Mechanical Technician qualification
  • Practical experience working on a broad range of estates plant and systems
  • Proven ability to escalation serious issues to management when required
  • Technical knowledge of specifications, drawings and manuals
  • Flexibility to travel across multiple Trust sites in your own/Trust vehicle

Main duties of the job
What You'll Do
  • Operate on a day shift you will be actively responding to breakdowns and job requests.
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and fault‑finding on generators, fire alarms, lighting and power, distribution boards, boilers, air‑handling units, chiller plant, medical gas systems, calorifiers and hot & cold‑water networks

Undertake maintenance, improvement and minor capital works on all facilities across the Trust.

  • Evaluate and respond effectively to emergency situations, prioritising safety for patients, staff and the public
  • Conduct and document your own risk assessments for medium and high‑risk tasks
  • Ensure strict compliance with Trust policies, statutory standards and health & safety legislation

Qualifications
  • An approved apprenticeship in an electrical or Mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
Knowledge
  • Work history and supporting information demonstrates an understanding of the importance of effective team working and contribute to team progression.
  • Recent practical working experience of Electrical/Mechanical systems.
