Qualifications

Estates Support Officer

Location: Northamptonshire

Salary: £25,110 – £27,400 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, full time

Think FE are proud to be recruiting for a respected college in Northamptonshore, who are looking for a reliable, hands‑on Estates Support Officer to join their estates team. This role is essentially a caretaker/handyman position working across a large site so you’ll be comfortable with practical tasks and ready to show initiative.

What will you be doing?
  • Preparing and setting up the college site for events (moving furniture, rearranging rooms, signage, etc.)
  • Carrying out general site duties: refuse collection across the large campus and occasional duties at other local campuses
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks: changing light bulbs, fixing leaky taps, minor carpentry/plumbing/electrical adjustments
  • Escalating more complex issues promptly to the helpdesk
  • Working as part of a team, supporting the Estates Manager and colleagues to ensure the site is safe, functional, and welcoming
What will you need?
  • Level 2 qualification in a trade (ideally electrical, plumbing or carpentry) or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in a similar caretaker/maintenance role
  • Valid, full UK driving licence (essential); the role involves travel on‑site and to our satellite location
  • Strong team‑player attitude; ability to work independently when needed
  • We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with military or disciplined‑services backgrounds, as this experience has proven valuable in the role
