A leading healthcare provider in Oxford is seeking experienced professionals to manage estate and facilities services across multiple sites. The role involves overseeing local provisions of E&F services, leading a diverse team, and ensuring compliance with national standards. We have two positions available, one at the Oxford Centre and one at the Southampton Centre. NHS Blood and Transplant is seeking experienced professionals with strong management backgrounds to oversee estate and facilities services across our centres and satellite premises. This is an exciting opportunity to manage both hard and soft services in a life-changing organisation. You'll join a forward-thinking, collaborative team where innovation, integrity, and commitment are encouraged. Estates and Facilities at NHS Blood and Transplant are unlike anywhere else in the NHS. We operate across 90 properties, but it's the diversity of sites rather than the size of the portfolio that matters. Each site has its own remote team base and donor centre. We're looking for individuals who can work flexibly, providing cross-cover across both roles and all sites. Your work will ensure consistent, validated support across these regions. Our sites include laboratories (blood processing and testing), apheresis units (blood collection and therapeutic work), offices, mobile bases, and warehouses. This variety makes these roles unique. If you're keen to experience all aspects of estates and facilities management, you'll thrive in this role.
The E&F Department provides a highly responsive and proactive service, in a customer-oriented environment where teamwork and communication, statutory compliance, budget control, performance management and business continuity are key to its success. Your responsibilities will include:
You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.
It takes all types of people to deliver the kind of service that saves and improves lives. At NHS Blood and Transplant, you’ll join a team of more than 6,000 people who are making a genuine difference to communities, families, friends, relatives and more across the UK. We play a unique and special role in the NHS by helping people do something extraordinary—donate blood, blood products, organs, tissues, or stem cells to save someone in need. Our three core values are what set us apart. They guide and inspire everything we do. By being caring, expertly meeting the needs of our patients and our people, and accepting nothing less than the best quality, we can do extraordinary work and help our people to do something extraordinary in their career, too. Three small words, one big difference—Caring, Expert and Quality. Together we'll save and improve more lives than ever. You will join us on our journey to create an inclusive workplace and aim to reflect the diverse communities we work with, and we positively encourage applications from all sectors of the community.
