About Biofarm

Biofarm is a pioneering natural capital company delivering Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) across England. We secure land through long‑term agreements and create high‑integrity habitats that generate measurable ecological uplift. Our legal frameworks underpin everything we do, from landowner partnerships to habitat unit sales.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial and dynamic Estates and Partnerships Manager to act as one of the main points of contact for our landowner partnerships across the country, reporting directly into our Land Director. The role will include land sourcing, contract negotiation, stakeholder management, presentation of concepts to Government bodies and requires detailed knowledge and experience of the planning system and environmental subsidies.

The role is full‑time at our head office in Camden Town, London with regular days on site, visiting partners. We're a highly entrepreneurial and fast‑paced business, so this role will suit someone who is able to take the initiative and help to drive us forwards at this exciting time of growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Sourcing: Analysing supply and demand data to source land in optimal areas for Biodiversity Net Gain.
  • Negotiation: Negotiating option agreements, leases and habitat creation agreements to secure land to create habitat banks.
  • Legal & Planning: Liaising with LPAs and Responsible Bodies to agree S106s and Conservation Covenants to legally enshrine biodiversity commitments for the future.
  • Advocacy: Presenting our innovative approach to stakeholders to further raise the Biofarm brand.
  • Lead Generation: Generating landowner leads to increase our network of habitat banks and fulfil developer requirements.
  • Data Management: Utilising IT tools such as Searchland and Pipedrive to accurately capture and record data being generated.
  • Relationship Management: Travelling regularly to our sites across the country to establish deep, lasting relationships with our landowner partners.
  • Due Diligence: Carrying out site specific due diligence and presenting findings internally.
Requirements
  • Experience: Demonstrable property experience including a detailed understanding of land markets and nature subsidies.
  • Qualifications: Full Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
  • Technical Skills: Skilled in contract negotiations and the planning system to include liaising with numerous parties to complete transactions in a timely manner.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences effectively.
  • Mindset: Entrepreneurial mindset to innovate and challenge the status quo, guaranteeing positive results to nature through the private sources of funding.
  • Organization: Highly diligent and organised.
  • Experience with conservation covenants, BNG delivery, or habitat banking.
  • Understanding of landowner dynamics and rural land management.
  • Passion for nature restoration and environmental impact.
  • Discretionary annual bonus.
  • Work alongside ecologists, land managers, and innovators in the BNG space - delivering lasting positive returns to nature.
