Job description

We are looking for an Estate Ranger (3 month FTC) to join our fantastic Neighbourhood and Estates team!

We own and manage c.7,500 homes in the east of England, working closely with other agencies and stakeholders within our communities. We build on the good foundations we have in place in being a customer-centric organisation, investing in our existing homes - including our zero-carbon journey - as well as building new homes.

We’ve also concluded a review of how we work in the future, with options around home and office flexible working, as well as a generous annual leave allowance and other benefits.

Please note this role is on a 3 month fixed term contract.

Outline of Key Responsibilities...

  • Adopting an agile approach; ensure our communities are kept to high standard of repair and cleanliness by inspecting communal parts, reporting repairs, raising issues to contractors & management companies and taking appropriate action on tenancy breaches
  • Work alongside the Neighbourhood and Estates Officers and Coordinators in responding to issues reported by residents quickly and efficiently ‘right first time’.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with other teams to deliver an effective joined up approach to tenancy and estate management
  • Carry out periodic Health, Safety & fire assessments and testing of fire safety management systems in residential blocks to maintain compliancy
  • Conduct ad-hoc and scheduled inspections of our property and land, monitor and implement the actions arising from the assessments
  • Update progress on jobs, record inspections and update scheduling systems during the course of the day, utilising mobile technology

  • Experience of dealing sympathetically, respectfully and fairly with people from all backgrounds
  • Understanding and ability to work as a flexible, collaborative team member working with colleagues to deliver business objectives
  • Good communication skills, able to communicate clearly with people of all backgrounds using a variety of methods
  • Good organisational skills, to manage workload efficiently and effectively in order to deliver high quality customer services “Right First Time” in line with Havebury’s, policies, procedures, vision and objectives
  • An understanding of how a customer’s experience of all aspects of the housing and estate services informs their overall view of the landlord
