Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Summer Placement Quantity Surveyor to join the on-site team in the Essex region. The 8-week placement starts July 2027 and offers hands-on experience in the contractual and financial aspects of projects, with mentorship from experienced professionals.

You will support the project team, gain practical skills, and explore a career in quantity surveying while working 40 hours per week for a fixed-term placement.

Qualifications

• Degree student pursing a Quantity Surveying degree is expected.
• You should show numerical confidence and data-driven decision making.
• Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate reliability and respect.
• Holding a full driving licence is desired.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in maximising gross profit for projects
• Managing commercial resources of the project
• Assessing, reviewing, and mitigating commercial and contractual risks
• Helping prepare and submit tenders and contract documents
• Collaborating with the project team to prepare progress reports and financial statements
