Job summary

Timely Recruit Ltd is hiring a Sustainability Consultant – Carbon & Net Zero to join a leading sustainability consultancy in London. You will work with diverse clients to measure, report and reduce greenhouse gas emissions while developing practical Net Zero strategies.

You’ll deliver carbon footprints across Scope 1–3, build GHG inventories per the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-1, and support SECR, CDP and SBTi submissions, with strong data analysis and client-facing communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in corporate carbon accounting or sustainability consulting.
• Strong knowledge of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
• Experience applying the GHG Protocol and/or ISO 14064-1.
• Familiarity with reporting frameworks such as SECR, CDP, SBTi, IFRS S2 or CSRD.
• Excellent written communication.
• Ability to present technical information to clients and stakeholders.
• Strong data analysis with large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal tools, templates and methodologies.
• Keep up to date with evolving carbon accounting standards and climate reporting requirements.

About the Role

We are seeking a Sustainability Consultant – Carbon & Net Zero to join a leading sustainability consultancy, supporting organisations with corporate carbon accounting, Net Zero strategy and decarbonisation planning.

This is a client-facing consulting role where you'll work with a diverse portfolio of organisations, helping them measure, report and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions while developing practical, commercially focused Net Zero strategies.

You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality carbon accounting projects, producing assurance-ready outputs and working closely with clients to translate complex data into meaningful business insights.

• Strong knowledge of Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 greenhouse gas reporting.
• Experience applying the GHG Protocol and/or ISO 14064-1.
• Understanding of Net Zero strategies, decarbonisation planning and climate mitigation.
• Familiarity with reporting frameworks such as SECR, CDP, SBTi, IFRS S2 or CSRD.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills, with experience working with large datasets.
• Excellent written communication and report writing skills.
• Confident presenting technical information to clients and stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Experience within sustainability consultancy or a client-facing environment is highly desirable.
