Job summary

SER Limited in London is seeking an experienced Escalator Engineer to join our expanding team. The role covers installation, maintenance, servicing and repair of escalators, travelators and moving walkways at client sites, with a Monday–Thursday 8am–5pm, Friday 8am–4pm schedule and overtime on offer.

Applicants should have a minimum NVQ Level 3, strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, a full UK driving licence and a proven ability to work independently on-site, with excellent communication

• Full UK driving licence
• Strong mechanical and electrical understanding
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing escalators, travolators and moving walkways
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and identifying technical issues
• Carrying out repairs and replacing components where required
• Conducting safety checks and ensuring equipment meets industry standards
• Troubleshooting faults efficiently and effectively
• Providing professional on-site customer support
• Communicating clearly with clients and providing updates on work
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety
• Working on client sites across the region
• Participating in an on-call rota covering weekends and bank holidays
• Some travel and overnight stays may be required

Escalator Engineer

My client specialises in the installation, servicing, maintenance and refurbishment of escalators, travelators and moving walkways across the UK.

With extensive industry experience, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality workmanship and professional engineering services. We work with clients nationwide, focusing on minimising disruption to their businesses and providing efficient, reliable solutions that maintain operational continuity.

They are now looking for an experienced and technically capable Escalator Engineer to join our growing team.

£40,000 - £50,000 basic, 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays, Pension, Over time available.

Monday – Thursday 8am – 5pm

Friday – 8am – 4pm

The Role

As an Escalator Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing and repair of escalators, travelators and moving walkways at client sites.

• Installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing escalators, travolators and moving walkways
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and identifying technical issues
• Carrying out repairs and replacing components where required
• Conducting safety checks and ensuring equipment meets relevant industry standards and regulations
• Troubleshooting faults efficiently and effectively
• Providing professional on-site customer support
• Communicating clearly with clients and providing updates on work being undertaken
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety
• Working on client sites across the region
• Participating in an on-call rota covering weekends and bank holidays

Some travel and overnight stays may be required depending on project and client requirements.

About You

I am looking for an engineer with a strong mechanical and electrical understanding and the ability to work independently at client locations.

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
• Previous experience in escalator maintenance, servicing or engineering is highly desirable
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting technical faults
• A full UK driving licence
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A professional approach when dealing with customers and clients
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A willingness to work on-site at different client locations
• Relevant escalator engineering certifications or experience would be advantageous
