Job summary

A contract aviation services provider is seeking an Ergonomist to work full onsite in Broughton. This role involves enhancing efficiency in production while addressing ergonomic risk factors. Candidates should possess a degree in Ergonomics and experience in assessing workplace ergonomics. The position offers a contract until December 2026 with a discussed hourly rate.

Qualifications

  • Accredited to, or working towards CIEHF Registered Membership.
  • Good background in human factor sciences, work physiology, biomechanics, cognition.
  • Experience anticipating risk in new designs and processes.

Job description
Role

Ergonomist – contract until December 2026 – full onsite in Broughton, Flintshire. 35 hours per week, BPSS clearance required. Hourly rate discussed upon application.

Responsibilities
  • Increase efficiency and minimise negative impact of work packages on human and manufacturing systems.
  • Influence product development in line with design for manufacture principles.
  • Develop and drive strategic plans for ergonomic risk reduction interventions.
  • Identify work‑related ergonomic risk factors and propose mitigation solutions.
  • Apply national laws, regulations and standards related to Human Factors and Ergonomics.
  • Support human factor improvement projects with stakeholders (Quality, H&S, design, production, manufacturing engineering).
  • Define integration of a User‑Centered Design process, with an HOF systemic and systematic analysis.
Qualifications
  • Degree (or higher) in Ergonomics/Human Factors from an accredited CIEHF higher education body.
  • Accredited to, or working towards, Registered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) or equivalent.
  • Good background in human factor sciences, work physiology, biomechanics, cognition.
  • Experience in identifying ergonomics risk factors in the workplace and proposing mitigation solutions.
  • Experience with all aspects of ergonomics assessment, standards, risk ratings, technical report writing and solution development.
  • Experience anticipating risk in new designs and processes.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards relating to the workplace.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
