Employee Relations Case Investigator

Our client is seeking a forward thinking, level headed Employee Relations Investigator to join their Employee and Industrial Relations team. The successful candidate will be able to navigate complex workplace issues, establish facts quickly, and ensure fair, thorough, and impartial outcomes.

They will act as a trusted point of contact when situations escalates. From misconduct to grievances, they will conduct investigations that are detailed, professional, and fully aligned with employment law and company policy.

Requirements
  • Solid experience in Employee Relations, with direct exposure to investigations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and best practice ER processes.
  • Excellent communication and interviewing skills – can build rapport while staying impartial.
  • A keen eye for detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Resilience, discretion, and confidence in handling sensitive and complex issues.
Details
  • Rate: £450.00 per day (inside IR35)
  • Working Hours: Full time Monday - Friday
  • Location: Birmingham/Hybrid (3 days per week in the office)
  • Duration: Until end of March 2026
Role
  • Leading impartial investigations into employee relations matters such as misconduct, grievances, harassment, discrimination, and disciplinary issues.
  • Gathering evidence through interviews, documentation, and analysis – and presenting findings clearly and accurately.
  • Partnering with HR, managers, legal teams and Counter Fraud team to ensure cases are handled with fairness and consistency.
  • Advising leaders on outcomes and next steps, balancing legal compliance with a strong people‑first approach.
  • Maintaining meticulous records and ensuring processes meet regulatory and best practice standards.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement in ER policies, training, and culture.
  • May be required to attend Employment Tribunals.
