Job summary

A leading technology firm in Derry/Londonderry is seeking an experienced technician for a full-time equipment maintenance role. You will work a rotating 12-hour shift pattern, performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting production tools. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of relevant experience and a Level 3 qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering. About our group:

At Springtown, we boast an impressive array of approximately 500 equipment toolsets, supported by a dedicated team of 170 employees. Our mission is to cultivate a world‑class, flexible, and engaged maintenance team that drives improved factory performance and reliability.

About the role - you will:

You will be working a rotating 12‑hour shift pattern. This will include days and night working shifts to include: 4 days on, 4 days off; 2 days on, 2 days off; 3 days on, 3 days off; 2 days on, 2 days off. The rota will then repeat.

The role will have the responsibility of maintaining a safe working environment, providing immediate response and efficient resolutions to down‑time situations.

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Maintain production tools within critical process parameters.
  • Troubleshoot and restore production tools from unexpected downtimes.
  • Assist in the installation and qualification of production equipment.
  • Collaborate on engineering projects to enhance equipment reliability and process capability.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities and update the Equipment Technician Manager.
  • Conduct cost‑effective repairs of faulty components.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Be adaptable to take on other duties or shifts as needed to support business needs.
  • Participate in and support business excellence initiatives.
About you:
  • You will bring a strong technical profile with demonstrated relevant 2 years’ experience in equipment maintenance, fault‑finding, and diagnosis – we are flexible about the industry experience you bring. It may include experience as a mechanic, electrician, etc.
  • You will have a minimum Level 3 mechanical/electrical/engineering/ equipment maintenance/ IT related or other relevant qualification or recognised completed apprenticeship.
Your experience includes:
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
