Job description

You will be working as an apprentice groom on a busy eventing yard with horses from young 3‑year‑old to 5‑year‑old horses, so lots of experience available!

The job is usual yard work including:

• Feeding
• Grooming
• Tacking up
• Turning out / bringing in
• Mucking out (learning to)
• Managing and preparing event horses for competition
• Some riding and competition grooming depending on experience level

During the role the apprentice will be supported to develop in all areas, and the employer is happy to work with you in areas you are particularly interested in. You will also receive regular training from an equine vet and a BHSI Stage 5 Performance coach.

All training will take place at your place of work, with your employer and supported by Haddon Training. This will be a mixture of face‑to‑face and online delivery. Haddon Training will also support you with maths and/or English if you do not currently hold pass grades.
