Job summary

A reputable training organization in the UK is seeking an eager apprentice for equestrian operations. You will assist with general yard duties and learn on-site through mentoring. Ideal candidates are passionate about horses and reliable. Working hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 8 am to 5 pm. This apprenticeship offers hands-on training but requires no prior qualifications in Equine Studies.

Qualifications

  • You must not already hold a qualification in Equine Studies at Level 2 or above.
  • If needed, you will be supported in gaining Functional Skills qualifications.
  • Willingness to learn and commit to working hours.

Overview

Apprentices joining the team will gain exposure to a variety of farm and equestrian operations, providing a broad, hands‑on learning experience in a professional, supportive environment.

They are looking for an eager and committed apprentice to join their team. The role will involve assisting with the equestrian centre operations, general yard duties.

Responsibilities
  • Mucking out/ keeping yard clean and tidy
  • Grooming / picking out feet
  • Tacking up
  • Feeding/ filling haynets
  • Filling water containers
  • Exercising ponies and small horses

Working – Tuesday to Saturday 8am until 5pm with 1 hour lunch break. No accommodation available; must be able to commute.

Training

All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • You must not already hold a qualification in Equine Studies at Level 2 or above, as this will make you ineligible for the apprenticeship.
  • If you do not already have qualifications in maths and/or English, Haddon Training will support you in gaining Functional Skills qualifications at level 1 or 2.
  • Passionate about working with horses and willing to learn.
  • Reliable, hardworking and a team player.
  • Able to commit to the required working hours and flexible schedule when needed.
