Job summary

A leading equine training organization is seeking a dedicated Equine Groom Apprentice to join their team in Blackwells End Green. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in horse welfare, training, and performance. Responsibilities include daily yard work, assisting with training routines, and supporting competition preparation. Candidates should be willing to work towards L2 Functional Skills in English & Maths. Live-in accommodation may be available in the future.

Qualifications

  • Willing to work towards L2 Functional Skills in English & Maths if you don’t have a GCSE grade 4/C.
  • Some previous experience with horses would be beneficial to being successful in this application.

  • Assisting with horse welfare and training routines.
  • Supporting the exercise and conditioning of competition horses.
  • Helping with competition preparation and logistics.
  • General yard management and horse care.

Job description

Woodward Equestrian is seeking a dedicated Equine Groom Apprentice either Level 2 or Level 3 to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for horses, who wants to learn from industry professionals and gain hands-on experience in horse welfare, training, and performance.

Responsibilities
  • Daily Yard work, including mucking out, grooming and tacking up
  • Assisting with horse welfare and training routines
  • Supporting the exercise and conditioning of competition horses
  • Helping with competition preparation and logistics
  • General yard management and horse care

Working 5 Days per week / 07:45am to 17:00pm with 1 hour lunch break.

The apprentice will need to have their own transport to get to the yard. Live-in accommodation may be available in the future, but not immediately.

Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training. Maths and English functional skills to be completed as well if required.
