Job summary

A leading cancer care provider in the UK is seeking an Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Officer to lead EDI initiatives and ensure compliance with legal obligations. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior leaders and external partners to drive impactful EDI strategies. This role requires proven experience in EDI within a workforce context and strong analytical and communication skills. Location is primarily in Wirral with some working from home options.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Officer to lead and progress our EDI agenda, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and best practice across our workforce.

As the EDI Officer, you will work closely with senior leaders, staff networks, and external partners to deliver impactful EDI initiatives, training, and strategic projects. You’ll play a key role in developing and implementing equality standards, monitoring action plans, and supporting the Trust to meet its legal obligations and foster an inclusive culture.

Main duties of the job

  • Act as the lead point of contact for EDI workforce activities, supporting policy development and application.
  • Administer and support staff networks and EDI steering groups, providing regular reports and agenda setting.
  • Stay abreast of relevant legislation and NHS guidance, ensuring the Trust's compliance and best practice.
  • Develop and monitor action plans for equality delivery standards (e.g., Workforce Race Equality Standard, Gender Pay Gap reporting).
  • Promote positive action initiatives to address historical disadvantage and encourage participation from under‑represented groups.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or have up to date equivalent experience of EDI in a workforce context. You will have proven experience supporting successful interventions and projects to improve organisational performance, have strong communication and influencing skills. You will also have the ability to analyse and present complex, sensitive data.
