A global health research organization is seeking an Epidemiologist II for government work in Portsmouth. Battelle's Health Research and Analytics (HRA) business line is currently seeking an Epidemiologist II to support our government customer in Portsmouth, VA (remote work available). This Public Health (PH) program enables our government customers to maximize readiness through force health protection (FHP) strategies and solutions for current and potential Public Health (PH) threats. The core scientific and technical capabilities and product lines in this program are to conduct Health Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Analysis; Disease and Injury Prevention; and PH Consultation and Support for the benefit of active-duty service members, retirees, and their families. Battelle shall enable these capabilities and product lines by providing Scientific and Technical Information (STI) deliverables, by performing Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), and other Research and Development (R&D) related analytical services. This position supports the EpiData Center (EDC), which provides data analysis for public health surveillance for Navy and Marine Corps members and dependents in the following areas in the following areas: Diseases, Conditions and Infections, Reportable Medical Events, Deployment Health Assessments, Occupational and Environmental Exposures, and Information Technology.
Conducts epidemiologic scientific and technical analysis for the customer’s disease and injury prevention programs including analyses of health assessments, medical and environmental health data, and surveillance (including biosurveillance) and clinical data to develop studies, reports, and recommendations to prevent disease and injury and to improve health and medical readiness, value, quality, cost, and availability of care.
