As an EOTAS/Elective Home Education Practitioner, you'll be at the heart of ensuring children and young people who are educated outside of an educational setting receive the support they need to thrive. Working closely with the EOTAS Co‑ordinator, you'll help drive the annual review process from start to finish, making sure every review meets statutory requirements and reflects the full needs of the child or young person. This is a role for someone who is organised, detail‑oriented, and passionate about making a difference. You'll combine clear communication with empathy, helping families and professionals work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for every child.
- Annual Review Coordination: Support the EOTAS/EHE Co‑ordinator in managing and completing the annual review process for all EOTAS/EHE cases. Attend, record, and facilitate reviews where appropriate.
- Quality Reporting and Record Keeping: Support the Co‑ordinator in maintaining high‑quality records and sharing data through KPIs and highlight reports.
- Elective Home Education Monitoring: Conduct termly check‑in calls with all Electively Home Educated children and young people.
- Funding Management Support: Assist the Co‑ordinator in managing EHC funding accurately for children and young people with EHCPs, ensuring resources are used effectively and with maximum impact, considering pressures on the High Needs Block.
- Pre‑employment Checks: Should you be offered the role, an Enhanced DBS will be actioned for you (unless you are on the DBS Update Service).
- Ideal Candidate: Highly organised and cares about improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
- Knowledge & Experience: Sound understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), statutory processes, and current SEND legislation; experience in coordinating reviews and working within multi‑agency partnerships.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as you will work collaboratively with parents, carers, educational settings, and professionals to ensure positive engagement.
- Driving Licence & Vehicle: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, along with evidence of licence and vehicle insurance with business insurance.
